remove chrome capping, use a small screw drive and the plam of your hand. place the blade of the screw driver between the capping and the riser, tap screwdrive in e-z with the plam of your hand. the caps should pop right off.

Use an allen key to loosen the hex bolts e-z does it, maybe tie your handle bars to a hook in the ceiling so they dont fall and hit the tank. Do not remove the hex bolts just loosen. Place bars where you like them and retighten.

Yeah it's fast. It's blue and it has flames.

Danny:
As Marko describes, it's pretty easy to made a handlebar adjustment, just don't let those bars drop onto your tank!

I moved my bars up about 1" which made an impressive comfort gain. I'm 5'11" and moving the bars up made me sit more upright which made my back more comfortable on long rides.

Like everyone says, it's pretty easy to loosen and adjust the bars. But if you make a radical adjustment, you may want to loosen and re-level your front brake reservoir. Better safe than sorry.....

Many people here also swear by "Jims Spacers" to get the handlebar higher and/or closer. Do a search on the forum.

Thanks Everyone
Glad I asked now, tank may of been damaged otherwise with the bars dropping onto it.
Hope no one found out the hard way.

Safe Riding

Danny,

For future reference, the OEM handlebars are notched for stock alignment purposes. The main handle bar has the notch on the inside of the left clamp location:

The controls have similar notches as well. Note that the top clamp has to be removed to see this!
