Same problem here so I just took some sandpaper to mine. I wasn't too fussed as my plan was to get a new tank made and not bother with the dash. If you take your time, use a fine grit and do all your strokes the same way, it's pretty effective in both reducing glare and looking right; it actually looks like a worked piece of metal, rather than the chrome-covered plastic that it is!!
