i was gonna say try using that transparent paint for like models and stuff. Someone on here was using it for painting the inside of their stop lights lenses. I think its made by testors model paint company. It'd probably look like a black chrome or something. Dont know how it would hold up in the long term.
You could spray paint it with that silvery paint thats supposed to mimic chrome but falls a tad short. It'd probably look more like the aluminum on the triple trees.
Or you could just scuff up the chrome with some fine grit sandpaper and give it a shot of clear coat or something.
