Rain, rain go away, B.A. wants to come out and play .Oh well if it rains, it rains and we still ride... just a little more cautiously. Won't be the first time I got wet... won't be the last. Besides we could all pile into Benny's jeep and ride around in our rally t-shirts, drinking beers and catcalling the ladies . Or we could just ride no matter what.... Gordon

Yo Chy, that's cool. I'm so used to riding the slab around here it's not a big deal riding alone. Let me ask you one question, are you guys going to take 400 until the connector, and get on 85 there? Or are you going to 400 to 285 West, and then around to 85 South?
I've got no problem sitting under an over-pass waiting for you guys to roll by.

Dang it! Here it is Wed. 3:50pm in Tulsa Oklahoma and the rally starts tommorrow in Ga. and I'm still thinkin. What would I have to do to get off and get down there. I could stay overnight with my friend in Nashville, borrow a sissy bar bag from Donny. dream... dream... Oh well maybe next year. Bonnie will be paid for and I will have more money to get ready. I really envy you guys and gals. Hope is doesn't rain too much, but hey like Chy said..it's spring in Georgia it's gonna rain. Have a great time and yall be careful!!!!!

Chy, I will not be making the rally this year. I have been covering for a guy at work for almost six weeks and Monday we found out another guy is out with heart problems for who knows how long. As much as I hate it the place will fall in the sh*tter if I'm not there and, well I need a pay check to live. You might recall I had originally planned to come down Wednesday morning but changed it to Thursday, trying to work things out but I just couldn't. You know me I would be there if it was at all possible. I've had this penciled in for months. Anyone still looking for a room the econo lodge has a vacancy Anyway guys and gals, have fun, be safe and tell everyone I said hello. Mike

Now it's starting to look like a rally around here. We have had an excellent turnout this year.... Mert Snekeptp Moe&Lynn Ryan771 Bonnyusa& Janet Larryshep Roundy77 Dinqua Englishyankee Kennymc Bogie Lynchphoto Newt & Sue Jaymo Bennybmn Mlessard Airguy DK1 Yota SmWasp Big Jack and Diane Skillet Stevesixmil MrUnix Benz Tech Hondagirl BSmith & Jessica Glazer JamesG Rally news..... Jaymo's bike threw a rod pretty much demolishing his engine somewhere in Virginia so if anyone has a lead on one be sure to let him know. Today was a great day, we rode up to eat this morning and had a nice after breakfast ride then we kinda hung out as the folks starting trickling in through the day. Another little scenic tour this evening and quite a get together then the Chicago boys rolled in around 10 tonight after the rest had gone to terrorize the hotel. Maybe they'll still have a room tomorrow... Off to Newnan tomorrow bright and early..see what's what and visit some folks and yes... we have rain gear.

Shari, Here's to a Slabless Saturday from me also. I had enough on the way to Newnan and then home. I had a GREAT time meeting everyone and riding together. It was just good (except for Jaymo). The trip to NW Alabama: Torrential rainfall for a good bit of the trip. Frogg Toggs should sell for $250 (but don't tell them). Vera was purring like a really big kitten all the way home. God knows, I love that bike. I am home now and spending time with my sweetie of 30 years. I really hate I had to leave early, and I wish the best for the rest of youz guyz weekend. Thanks Chy & Di! Keep It Fun!!!

Glad you made it home alright Dennis, it was great to meet you finally. We got a little wet down the slab but for the most part we were pretty lucky. Mostly just glad it's over (the slab ride that is) man I hate riding down around the big town. Well it's up and off to the twisties tomorrow so I'm going to try to get some rest. Till next time.....

Hey Kevin, Next year, take 2 weeks off and turn your bike into a tourer - it's worth the trip. sm_wasp04 (Gary) seems to be the farthest traveller from just west of Houston.

Hey Gordon, The pleasure was mine. I really enjoyed getting to talk to you and put a face on lynchphoto. It seems like everyone there focused on our common interest instead of personal agendas. Even MrUnix and I bonded well, despite our known differences. He is a jewel. Everyone I met there is special to me, already. I would welcome each of them into my home at any time. Yota, despite his history, is already like my little brother (we accellerated together a couple times and we both smiled - we shared the grin). I will get in touch with him soon for a ride in middle Tennessee. I thank Larry for welcoming Shari into his home and showing her what Southerners are all about. I thank Shari for taking a leap of faith in her brother, and getting to meet some more of us. Of course BigJack & Diane Wilson for being the precious friends they are. Gary for being the farthest member to show. Pat, for his wizardry and spatial aptitude in his trouble shooting skills. Jaymo, for his tenacity. He was a broken man for a while, but he will survive (he's a country boy at heart, I saw it in his eyes). I won't mention any other names, because I will miss someone. The long distance riders hold a special place with me. I love 'em. But especially Chy & Di. My God, they go to a lot of trouble and put there lives on hold for a few days to put and keep these rallies together. God's blessings to Chy & Di and their house. Now, most of all, I wish I was still there instead of looking at this empty house after 20 teenagers being here all day. Megan's 18th birthday was special today. Her 3 best friends since age 2 were here with us since mid-morning, getting things ready and cooking with me, then I am reminded of friendship. But My NEW friends are great.
Ride Safe,
Dennis

Well, made it home last night about 11:30pm with a completely uneventful night ride (other than it was a bit chillier than during the day in the mountains). Had a blast eating Mexican with the gang Friday night, even if Benztech and Hondagirl made me sit there and eat dry tortilla chips while they gorged on their dinner (mine was somewhat delayed!), but we did have some funky peanut-tasting Dos Equis dark to wash down the dry chips! Talk about heartless(ha ha!!!), then got to spend some time chatting with Newt, and a little time FINALLY getting to meet Mert (Shari) face to face after all these months chatting. Any Yota, well, Yota, what can I say, one of a kind guy! And Brent for a few seconds before he took off. And of course met up with all the old faces (yeah, Phil especially YOU!!!-HA HA!) from the 2004 Rally that I missed last year, and got to watch Pat almost cry when it looked like he was going to have to choose between the King of Beers or Water to drink(I think I saw him eyeing the port-a-potty a couple times when I offered him a Bud(grin). Even got to help a friend of Chy's straighten out her carbs (on a Legend) for a few hours Sat cause she'd put AT LEAST 4520 Shims on each needle!!!! (actually it was only 2, but they were these huge THICK plastic washers that wouldn't even seat against the head of the needles, "BUT THAT'S WHAT THE BOOK SAID!!!!!!!!" Then Shari and Chy serenaded the rest of us out back with some SWEEET guitar licks, WAAAY KEWLL! Really really hated to leave all of this, although looking outside now at the 60 degree nonstop rain coming down tells me it was a good choice. THANKS ESPECIALLY TO CHY and DI, who put on the whole show, and as was the case the first year, and I'm sure last year, was INCREDIBLE!!!! He was even thanking me for coming. ME, all I had to do was put the key in and twist the throttle, not exactly backbreaking labor now!!!! No, he and Di are TOPS!!! We started out in 2004 with 16 bikes, now we were over 30, and I'm guessing over 40 people, all of whom I'm not going to name, quite frankly, cause the time was so short, I know I didn't get to meet several people face to face!!! Another HUGE THANKS goes out to Larryshep, because on top of putting together yet another great feast, he went way out of his way and not only put up Shari(Mert) for several days, but also let her borrow one of his Speedmasters for the whole time and took her out for a bunch of twistie-riding!!! And Lynn and Janet, I promise, IF I'm close enough to make it next year, I'll talk more, but I warn you, once you get me talking, you might regret it!!! Meeting everyone, both new faces and old, just reaffirms to me what a great bunch of folks here, and for all the horror stories that we hear about the Internet, there are also success stories like this that bring people from all over the globe together from different backgrounds, orientation, interests, and only one common bond, to form a family! OH, by the way Adey, what's up with sending Chy an Ace Cafe patch, I had to pay for mine. Where's the love brother?!!! After all the kinds words I've shown you...

I cannot believe it is over already. Sorry to Di, Chy, and everyone today for my quick departure. It rained from Dahlonega to just north of Valdosta. Home safe with more to report later including a potential evacuation of our home within the next few hours due to a 250 acre forest fire very nearby!
Lots to say and report but first, time to play with the kiddies.

Pulled into the garage around 9pm, a bit wet and tired but safe and sound. The rain cooperated for most of the ride except for the last few miles where the skies opened up and dumped more rain than I had seen all day. I can't believe the rally is over already
