I also use an O-ring at the end of the throttle grip. I don't use it much except on 500 mile trips. I don't seem to have a problem lightly resting my palm against the throttle to maintain speed. I roll the Oring over and then roll it back when done and I want the throttle to be able to spring return to zero position when letting go of the throttle. I guess I may not know what I am missing. All my friends have throttle locks and cruise control. I just don't feel I need it. In fact, I rarely use the O-Ring and end up forgetting it is there. I have to replace in every couple of years when it breaks off due to sun damage.
