I recently sold my 2005 R1200GS and bought a 2007 Speedmaster. I came to the realization that my riding style was not well suited to taking advantage of all the "adventure bikes" can do. I'm not a Harley guy, and was concerned that the Speedmaster would not be big enough for me.
I can't tell you how happy I am with my decision. After 2 hours on the highway, I decided I needed a windscreen. I just didn't like the look of a full windscreen on the Speedmaster, so after reading posts on this site, I decided to put on a Dart flyscreen. It looks great and works even better. No wind on my chest, and quieter than my GS.
The bike came with a sissy bar, solo seat, and passenger seat. I miss the storage, (I don't like the looks of soft bags, not sure about hard bags) and would like to find a small bag to put sunglasses, etc. I have no use for the sissy bar, but I have ordered a chrome rack to go behind the solo seat. I hope that a bungee net on it will solve my issue on having some place to carry stuff or for luggage on a trip.
Any thoughts on a small bag that would look good on the Speedmaster?

Welcome Tim, and I am sure you will enjoy your new ride bro. Nows as for bags, there is a large choice out there Try the Saddleman jumbo slants, that is what I have and I quite like the look and they are pretty big to..
I'm sure someone else will chip in with some ideas for you as well..

Welcome Tim.
I use a small, soft sided, insulated cooler that I found at a Dept. Store (Bealls). It's about 10" wide and 12" tall, with a couple of mesh pockets on the sides and enough hooks that it bungees to either my fender rack when I'm solo or stands on the luggage rack when the passenger seat/sissy bar is on. I paid about $10 and its black with reflective piping, so it looks the part. A tool bag on the front forks and I'm all set for day trips.

I adapted a small fork bag right on to the top of the handbars, where the bar clamps hold the bars on. It's right in front of me, and I can change glasses for night clears with out stopping.

Hey Tim,
Congrats on the change and on finding a bike that suits you! I haven't gotten a fork-bag yet (still undecided), but I keep a soft bag on my fender rack most of the time. There are lots of options available...

Thanks for the suggestions. I hadn't thought about a fork bag -- I think that might look good.

Possible stupid question. Are there any issues with blocking the oil cooler by putting on a fork bag ?. Im sure my tool bag causes a bit of air flow alteration.
