Smart move there about takin' it easy with the new rubber, Tom. Those babies are pretty darn slick the first 100 miles or so especially.

(and yep, that's good advice for ANYBODY, including us older guys who have years of riding experience, but still like to scruff up those "chicken strips" on their tires now and then)

Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

I have never been able to scrape my pegs. I bent the heck outta my kickstand in Arizona and scared by pipes on the right side. I cannot scrape pegs. I am just not good enough.

I think your pipes hit on the right before your peg and I know your kickstand hits before your peg.

see Im wondering if you scrape more with long pipes, stock height, and squishy shocks compared to lowered, shorty pipes, and hard springs?

I seem to scrape my pegs more than my pipes since installing progressive fork springs and 15w oil. Prior to that i scraped pipes first. It's kinda fun scraping pegs. Sometimes i actually try to scrape them all the way through a curve.

Okay, after THAT little bit of "enlightenment", and keeping with the general intent of this thread, HERE'S a question for you folks:

Does he just tend to state the facts in a little too much of a "smart-alecky way" a lot of the time, OR...is Dwight just plain friggin' "rude" TOO???

Not TOO anything; just being Dwight...

Wouldn't have it any other way.

All this hoopla about rude bikers. Harley riders or otherwise.

Did the rudeness physically impact you? Its easy for all of us to lose our cool over an implied rude behavior.

The one single most rude incident that impacts bikers physically and emotionally is self evident in the persona of an individual who often espouses no rude behavior but through inattention or distraction turns left in front of us either from a stop sign (could be either direction) or from a driver going in the opposite direction turning left in front of us.

I think thats the single most common act of 'RUDENESS" that puts bikers in graves or the ICU every day.

I'll take any amount of real rudeness any day over the incidental rudeness of some one who claims to have never seen me nearly killing me in the process.

Agreed... But I think the point is that with all we have to worry about with oblivious cagers, road hazards, etc... the last thing we need is to have to deal with crap from each other.

Perhaps. But being the victim of a left turning cager ....I'll take crap from other bikers forever.

Rudeness is small stuff .......nearly five months of hospitalization as a result of a driver who meant no harm but just screwed up is forever.

Yes.....but rational has nothing to do with it....just simple Spock logic.

I have to put up with a few rude bikers now and then.

A small thing in the great realm of things.

You ...ole
Billy gotta take my stuff as well eh now. Rudeness being a political reality in our age of Bi-partisanship.
