I have ridden a couple hundred miles with the spacers on, and I did notice a difference. Honestly, I didn't really think I was going to like them at first. It seemed like slow-speed control was a little worse with my hands higher...or maybe I just needed to get used to the new position. I like them now, and am going to keep them on. I have actually thought about going the other direction, with some shorter risers and the Speedmaster bars. I may try that down the road, just to see how it feels.
My bars aren't black; I think it was just the lighting in my garage.
