I saw an America last night that I thoought was pretty cool. The guy that owns it put wood veneer on the fork covers, side covers and cheese graters. With the color of his bike, it looked really nice. He said it was pretty tough to do since it is real wood veneer. He told me what kind of wood it is, but I have forgotten.

Certainly different, I like it.
A brown distressed leather seat would tie it all in nicely

What it can't reach it spits at.

There ain't no formica trees in Oregon. Come to think of it, they're short on good taste, too. All I can say is; "There's a woodie for which no one has any purpose.

Well, what I'm wondering here is...Wood, err, WOULD this guy owe any royalties to Chrysler because of their "Town and Country" series of vehicles???

(wait a minute here...Chrysler may be gone before too long, huh?!...so MAYBE he's SAFE from any possible litigation here, RIGHT???!!!)

Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

Vehicles should be wrought from iron , fire , sweat and chrome . Wood is better suited for domestic applications , ie. cabinets , the mantle , a desk . Everything has a place . It's the Law of the Universe .

See now, there you go.

I kinda' like it. Match it up the anchor bling that retired Navy guy had on his green tba. The guy we ran into during the Nelson rally 4-5 years ago

Ive always wanted to hand carve a set of grips and do some wood burning designs all over them. But Im not a big fan of gluing stuff on top.

Kinda cool.. and I can appreciate the effort even if it's not what I'd choose myself. Of course, these things can be taken too far...

Wood reminds me of those horrible station wagons etc. with fake wooden side panels. Okey, those were ok in the fourties or something and in real wood but American car industry tried to sell them even at 80´ties and 90´ties with the result that we all know.

My most honest opinion; don´t mix wood and motorcycles please.

Well then I bes' not tell you about this little idea I have to take that gobbin' hunk of plastic dash of ours on the tank and replace it with a genuine Keith inspired sculptured bird's-eye maple dash with embedded lights to help inspire a sense of conformity with natural law.

Plastic? And that's not fake?!?!

I wood... and I probably will come this winter. I've heard a lot about this sun reflection problem off the dash (I agree), and I've heard about painting it or dulling it but this ol' nature backwoods boy with chiseling and carving experience just might go against the grain (so to speak) and dazzle the masses with authentic natural beauty.

Yes that´s fake but it doesn´t look like it compared to most wooden things we´ve seen. And I didn´t take this as a fake thing, more like a taste thing.

You like it you cover or rebuild your bike of wood but I prefer my bike without wood also in the future.

Btw. Was this discussion about plastic?

Apparently you have a different definition.

Okay, just so you know... I would NOT do anything like that. Makes wood look bad. That's more like a motorcycle version of the ol' Dodge Woody.
