Had a very interesting time this week. My local neighbourhood pot dealer and I had a bit of an argument. OK so I smoke a little pot now and again. Those who know me, know all about my mental health issues and know that I use pot to sleep without night terrors. Anyway, not really the point and I don't want to open up the floor to a debate on the wrong and rights of using natures bounty. The guy kept ripping me off all the time, and being an easy going kinda guy, I let it slide. A couple of days ago, my delivery was way under weight again and I complained, to which I got the expected abuse and threats. No problem, I'm old enough and ugly enough to look after myself. Next thing I know he's phoned my wife and threatened to come round with a sword to kill our children and burn the house down. I've got through most of the last 44 years, using my wits to stay out of trouble and avoid confrontation. I've always walked away from a fight. I've always been a path of least resistance kinda guy, but there are some lines you shouldn't cross. This guy is only about 23 but thinks he's some big time crim. So donning my leather (a bit of padding at least) I picked up my trusty Halfords hammer and set off around the corner to go and threaten him a bit. I'm not a hard man and never have been, I may be the class clown, But I'de like to think that I can at least look like one scary mother f@@@er when I have to. He came out of the house with a short samuri sword in one hand and a junior baseball bat in the other! Now, I hate people using knives to scare people. My old dad used to say never threaten anyone with a weapon you aren't prepared to use. Oh bugger, what to do now? Fortunately, he was only a few feet away when he made the classic mistake of raising his arms out to the side and screeming come on then! Well I wasn't going to miss my only opportunity to close the distance on him and make it more difficult to use them. Been a long time since I trained in 'internal security' with 42 commando (23 years ago). Even then the self defense bit was a little comical. But I guess I must have remembered something. So I managed to get the little bugger in a headlock whilst holding both his wrists. His mate is lunging at me with a garden fork and his 2 alsations are trying to get me, but as with most dogs, all bark and no bite. I think he beats them to make them agressive, but all he's done is make them scared of people. Suffice it to say that he didn't want to let go of his weapons and a rap over the kneecap with the hammer wasn't going to change his mind. So I hit him hard in the head with my little hammer which loosened his grip, as well as some of his scalp. Having the knife now, I managed to twist the baseball bat from him too. As I've said, I'm not generally given to violence, so once I'd disarmed him I kept my cool and whilst being threatened by his mates and his two alsations, made a strategic withdrawel back to my house. On reflection, perhaps if I had stuck him with his own sword, he might have learnt a valuable lesson. Well as expected the boys in blue appeared minutes later, put me in handcuffs and took me away. Aressted for wounding with intent and GBH 12 bloomin hours in a cell This guy is well known to the police as a dealer and general scumbag. They beleived my wife and I about the threats against our kids. Even told me they might have done the same. One of the detectives even said it was a shame I hadn't hit him harder. He also told me to buy my pot elsewhere in future. Problem is, I went to his house and took a weapon with me. So I was lumped with a caution for ABH and released, still wearing the silly blue paper suit they'd put me in as they'd lost the keys to the storage room. scumbag drug dealer walked off (limped off)scot free I know what I did was wrong, but I'd do it all again to protect me and mine. Not sure what I could have done different. I still beleive I should have the right to defend my family, even if that means getting in first before he has had the opportunity to hurt them. Perhaps if we all stood up to be counted, our estates might be a safer place. If we could get medical licenses to grow in the UK like some of the US states, then I wouldn't have to mix with orrid people. Rant over, carry on chaps

I don't blame you at all....at least it's a caution and not a court appearance.

Well, if I lived down the road from you two I would have night terrors. I would move.
Self medicated hammer wielding biker attacks his sword wielding, violent drug dealer with a hammer, to prevent a murder and arson over a drug dispute.
Biker alleges he was shorted on weight sparking the dispute that ended in violence.
Great news story in the making.
Yep, I would move out quickly.

Doesn't look great does it Only took the hammer for protection, and only then, cos it was lying next to my bike as I walked past as I'm still working on it.If I hadn't then I guess I'd be in a casket by now.
As for self medicating....Been under treatment for 3 years, suffering from prolonged duress stress disorder (Post traumatic stress for one or several events over an extended time frame and severe depression. I've tried every drug and treatment going, up to and including Electro convulsive therapy and nothing worked. Pot was a last resort, but it works for me, so don't nock it. Anyone who has been unable to sleep for long periods, knows how much damage it does. Thats why s;eep depravation is one of the most effective interogation techniques.
Like I said, I know I'm an idiot for going round there but I'm tired of people assumi9ng I'm an easy target. I'm 100% open and honest about my condition, I don't want people to make allowances for me, just to understand I am the way I am cos of the problems I have. I just wanted to stand up for myself for a change and be a man rather than a coward.
He just crossed the line and I'm not gonna take any sh*t from anybody any more

Next time catch the POS in the dark, from behind, with a bat to the noggin. Give him some time to wonder who it was he p****d off. He might end up with the night terrors.

Sorry to hear you got the short end. Not sure if you read about Wendy and our daughter being assaulted. This girl knocked on our door and assaulted our pregnant daughter and Wendy.Amanda went to the hospital in an ambulance because of being kicked in the stomach and Wendy had some bruises sustained before I pulled the girls off her. I tried to do the right thging and just call the cops instead of violence (not like me to be the calm one) There is more to it but those are the main facts and all the cops would do is charge them with tresspassing. They said because we answered the door we challenged them. We didn't know they were there for trouble yet but somehow we challenged them. The kid didn't even get a fine.

Sorry to hear that Dog, was she and the baby OK? been off the site for a while. We've tried using the system when my wife was mugged and beaten for not letting go of he handbag. The Cops did nothing. Some bugger nicked the alloys of my jeep and they didn't even prosecute him when he has caught red handed with them in the back of his stolen car. They do nothing! They are unhelpful, and assume that cos I happen to like bikes more than pretty much anything else on the planet, I'm trouble. This is despite the fact that for 2 years, I managed London Operations for a company making sure their radio network, vehicle radio and data and bobbies tech gear was monitored and maintained 24x7. I even have a commendation from The Met Police for my work on 7/7. Despite all this, they just see a silly haircut, a leather jacket and a DILLIGAF attitude The most valuable lesson I ever learned was don't judge people on what they look like, look into their heart first. Shame they can't see it to Bro.

Sounds like your cops are like ours, sorry to hear that. There are a couple good ones here that I know from towing but they get over ruled by the guys they answer to like the chief and the DA.

Problem is that you stopped too soon. There are four stages that must be completed when dealing with that sort.
1. beat them into submission. 2. continue 'till they beg for mercy. 3. continue beating them 'till they give up begging. 4. beat them a bit more for good measure.

So, let me get this straight here, Simon. This whole mess started when you became a "dissatisfied customer", huh?! Well dude, I gotta ask ya here....Isn't there some version of the "Better Business Bureau" over on that little island o' yours that you could have contacted BEFORE you grabbed that friggin' hammer and started down the street????? (dude...sorry, but I gotta agree with Ron's[satxron] above assessment of your "tactics" here)

Where do you live? Are guns legal? Because bludgeoning and sword crime goes way down when guns are legalized.

Uh huh Tony, and BEFORE that whole mess Simon WALKED INTO turned into that comic scene in "Raiders of the Lost Ark", where good ol' Indiana just pulled out his revolver after that big turban wearin' goofball jumps in front of him with that big a$$ sword, and BEFORE this thread turns into a referendum about the advanages of gun ownership, MAYBE this whole thing Simon is goin' through right now MIGHT HAVE REALLY gotten out of hand and NOT been near as "funny" as that movie scene was, and MORE than LIKELY would have turned out EVEN FRIGGIN' WORSE for everyone concerned IF he WOULD'VE TAKEN a gun with him down that street when he confronted that lowlife drug dealer of his, HUH???!!!
And sooooo duuuuude...what say we DON'T go there in this thread...OKAY?!
(and BTW Simon...I TOO "love motorcycles almost as friggin' much as anything out there", and THAT'S WHY I frequent this website sooooo friggin' much...BUT, I DON'T and I NEVER HAVE felt like cops have "picked on poor little me all my life"...and sooooo, WHAT'S WITH THIS FRIGGIN' ATTITUDE, DUDE?????????

OH! And one MORE thing here Simon...Yep, I DO agree with ya that if your country's laws or local ordinances don't have a provision for some sort of a "Medical Marijuana Law", then THAT is REEEEEALLY friggin' stupid TOO!!! (and now for MY two-fingers of SCOTCH with the requisite 3 ice cubes in order to settle MY nerves here now!)

Well Leno, come to think of it I HAVE been pretty friggin' "fortunate" all of my life. Yep! However, what I've noticed in my 57 years on this planet is that people kind of make their OWN "luck" in this world. AND, this "luck" often comes from making intelligent CHOICES somewhere along the line.
And while I may have been somewhat "unfortunate" when it comes to having the ability to "soothe the psyche" of those who haven't been "fortunate" enough to have found that the "secret" of getting along with others(INCLUDING COPS) and then later want me to "support" them and their "misfortune" later on when they relate their plight to me...well, all I can say here is that I guess I wish more folks out there could be as "fortunate" as I've been.
(well, other than that personal "misfortune" I admitted to about being unable to "soothe the psyche" of those less fortunate than I am, of course)
Yep! This kind of reminds me of that "unfortunate" soul on that cool Panhead Chopper who a couple of months back tried to pass Eddy and I on a blind left bend on that mountain road while we were on our way to Jerome AZ. Yep! And if you recall Eddy's recounting of that incident, my first move after that "unfortunate" soul dropped that cool ol' bike of his right in front of my truck, was to get out of truck, walk to to him and "unfortunately" say to him..."WHAT THE H*LL WERE YOU THINKIN'???"

Hey Bill! Do ya know what all those morons and lowlifes you pictured here have in common???
The answer IS: They ALL had or have a "family" that supported them pretty much "unconditionally"!!!!
(well, I suppose LATER ON they did anyway...but yeah, maybe their "family support system" during their FORMATIVE YEARS "might've been a bit lacking", HUH???!!!)

For a while, it was reclassified as a class C drug (coke is A) and the cops would generally confiscate it with a warning. Recently there were suggestions that it would go back to be class B drug with the resultant higher consequences if caught with it. Just for the record, I have never done any "illegal" drugs and don't care if others do - as long as it doesn't impact on me in any way.
With regard to Simon's actions, I think he could have been very close to facing charges for murder (or attempted murder) if things had got out of hand. While I fully understand wanting to protect your family, leaving your home with a weapon and going looking for someone will not be classed as self defence.

I am a gun owner and carry just in case I need it but have to agree with Dwight. I have a friend sitting in jail for murder for a similar situation. He got lucky and ended up in minimum security and only got 15 to 40 so he will be out before he dies of old age with any luck. He is a model prisoner so he should get out on the lower end I think. He was 47 when he went in.

The second amendment is still in effect and relevant in most American states ....Texas and Arizona are excellent examples. Utilizing a firearm to defend and protect property, family, and deter crime is an American right.
Except of course in those states where citizens are required by law to remain in touch with their inner "Vee-ginas."
Like Kalifornicania. They have little crime there.

In the news now......an Oklahoma pharmacist when confronted by two robbers....pulled his piece and shot one robber in the head and chased (read scared the crap out of) the other out of the business.
He then returned and finished off the shootee with five insurance shots and has been charged with murder.
Needless to say popular support for this "Wyatt Earp Pharmacist" is very high. I hope that support saves his butt. ****** fine close range work.
He really should have put all five insurance rounds in the kids head.

(and BTW...when that good ol' boy Okie pharmacist went back and "finished off" that lowlife, he DID friggin' CROSS THE LINE, and he SHOULD BE charged with murder, Mr. "Tough Guy"!!!!
Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

He he. It all depends on your point of view.
And....since when are you in charge? Referendum? What referendum. We dont need no STEENKING referendum cause we already have the Bill of Rights.
I expect that pharmacist just dealt the proper prescription to take care of the patients malady.
Similar to taking about 15 Vicodans.....just faster over the counter and no RX needed.

I have to admit, you DID say that pretty darn funny there, dude!!!
(but I still disagree with your premise there, of course)

Well without needing to argue the issue to an extent .....
I hope and predict that it will be difficult for the prosecutor to find a jury lopsided enough to convict.
Popular support amongst law abiding citizens, gun enthusiasts , NRA , et al......will help greatly.
I understand the mother of the dead wannabe robber is upset but she has to ask herself why her son determined to attempt to rob a pharmacy?

And you know......read the posts on Gina's bike being ripped off.
99.999% of us despise thieves. Most of us who have been ripped off somewhere ..sometime.....
If we could recreate the crime and find ourselves with a Clint Eastwood special ...having a good close shot at the fleeing thief would not hesitate to pump the entire clip into the back of same.
Thieves deserve this kind of justice.
