Anyone here from NC going to the Rally at the River in Salisbury, NC today or tomorrow?

I've never heard of this before, and don't know anything about it, but here's the website for it.

Looks like it's at Tamarac Marina on High Rock Lake...I remember going there a few times on my dad's boat when I was a kid. But, I won't be there this weekend.

Will, thanks for posting the link. I lost net connection when I got home yesterday morning. Must have been restored during the night.

This is only the second year for this rally. It was done as a mostly word of mouth event last year, to see how it went. This year there was a bit more advertising, but they're still not pushing it big time. I didn't get there last year, but local 2 mates went on the Friday afternoon, enjoyed it enough they took the wives back to it on Saturday. So the wife and I plus, possibly, one of her girlfriends, are going to head over later this AM.

If anyone does make it, I'll be the guy with a ponytail wearing a grey T shirt, with 'Triumph' printed in yellow on the front and a Motorcycles Of Charlotte oval logo on the back.

Hope none of you bothered to go to this, or if you did, didn't travel very far! It was pretty much a dud, at least during the day Sat. I'm not sure what happened, but the few events that were planned (rodeo games, wet-T contest,???) were canceled, so there wasn't much to draw people in. They did have a tattoo contest, but I guess it was earlier in the AM (we got there at about 11) so we missed that. There was a bike contest, with about a dozen entries, but none caught my eye so I didn't pay much attention to it.

Biggest problem I saw was all the bikers who showed up, and decided not to pay the $12.00 entrance fee, just to come in and check out the dozen or so vendors (nothing special) and buy $3.00 beers. Within a stone's throw, there was the Marina gas station and store, where folks could buy drinks, beer included, and sit out on their deck or on the grass and relax. Right across the street is a restaurant with good food and low prices.

Anyway, If I'm home next year and it's held again, I'll probably check it out, but I'm not holding my breathe.
