Wonder how Phil and Janet are getting along? Odds are Phil will look like the Joker on that Batman flick. What with all the grin’n and such as he navigates the hills and hollers of NW North Carolina.

Anyone else depart yet?

What day are ya’ll leaving? What day is your anticipated arrival?

Ryan, Lynn and I. Monday for Lynn and I. Tuesday for the three of us. Tuesday night or Wednesday before noon is our arrival window.

Moe, I'm thinking on leaving out Wednesday morning and arriving at Chy's some time around the same morning. Probably as much as an hour after leaving my house, depending on how many stops I make along the way . Can't wait to see you guys again... ride safe...Gordon

I just got new tires so the rally will be a good chance to wear down the 'chicken strips'. I've got a lot of cleaning to do and then heading out on Thursday noon-ish.

Hey Moe..

So I guess your trip plan has changed from the one you gave in the other thread (Ga. rally for florida riders)?

Cheers,
Brad

Maybe we could meet up in Dawsonville and ride together the rest of the way.

You know, I hadn’t heard from anybody about meeting up north of the border, so I hadn’t given it the slightest thought. Matt had said something about riding up, yet last I heard he is having a meditation session with pat and his amals. Yes, times change. Moved date of departure up 36 hours. Time of arrival also shifts since Tuesday morn will be 1.5 hours north of where I had originally planned to depart from. Thus a Tuesday arrival is not out of the question. (Likely an overnight stay in Commerce or Jefferson though). So, Tuesday we depart around 8am. Should place us in Hilliard around 10am. Commerce at 7pm.

Commerce places us just under two hours from Dahlonega, rolling in on 52.

yes my cable is to short.
it was short before it broke.
I will be sending an email to mike at belacorse.
not his fault , but just to inform him his supplier needs
to lengthen the inner cable a bit, to provide some adjustment.

Glad to know.. I was going to PM you in the next couple of days to verify, as I was considering meeting up just north of Jacksonville like previously discussed. Guess I'll just do a solo ride up then.

Just as well though.. as otherwise I'd be doing a lot of riding east, just to start going west again

Cheers,
Brad

Just another heads up/warning. The NorEast invaders will be heading into Dohlonega arond 4pm Wednesday. There will be me, Matt, jaymo54, and bill from up dar in Canaidja. (Ottowa for your rebels).
Hide the kids, chill the brew, you'll hear us coming, that's for sure. Three big bores with Tpipes and two sets of Sceptres, no missing us. And you can still hear Ed back in NY too.

I wonder how many people actually considered coming to the rally, and have since been scared off by simply reading this thread

Trust me, Tequilla won't help.

Yota is providing hot breakfast it seems.....
Almost makes me want to go north instead, but wojo's there and in control of the snow guns.

Brad,
Please don't bring TaKillYa - I drank it once and.......
I'll tell you later. That experience did make me stick to only beer for years.

Amen to that Gary! See you soon. Who is going to be the first to submit a post to this thread and then pull into Chy's drive 2 minutes later?

Moe and Lynn arrive in "beautiful" Daytona on Monday and then off we go Tuesday morning.

No worries Steve, I ran the Anderson/Indy (actually Brownsburg) run last summer in one shot, and Chy's is about 1 1/2-2 hrs less than that, so it's not TOO bad. Now, tack on 6 hours on the bike Sat, and then the ride back, now that's a killer...

Skillet, if ya drank the garbage Mexico ships to us Gringos (ie Cuervo Gold or similar), then no wonder, BAD STUFF, purely synthetic. Need to try a bit of the good stuff, some Don Julio Repesado or Cuervo Centenario. Yeah, it costs more, but doesn't leave you with the blinding headache and "how the hell did I end up in Tijuana, when I went to bed in Sacramento, I think..." thing... Good stuff, 100% Agave cactus juice, not the synthesized Agava they send to us from south of the border...

T minus 7 hours and counting till Lynn and I depart for a Gordon-style jaunt to Port Orange. I tell ya, that 1.5 hour ride is as arduous as they get. Rolling up Useless one, fighting all the people wanting to hand us gatorade, the ear-deafening roar of tens of thousands clapping, and such. When we finally arrive at the Meyer's abode, Jennifer and Lynn are watching the kids while Ryan and I puff our chests out while we do the king of the hill beer drinking at the end of the driveway Yeah, right!

Can ya tell I might as well not go into work today?

Tick tock....23 hours to liftoff and the Yankee Invaders departure for an adventure to surely be remembered.
Already minus one since Nancy, err, Bill bailed. And Sally will be Jeeping along, hopefully he won't run us off the road as he passes us with the stereo blaring and a cold one in hand.
