A helmet with a face shield and a windshield serve different purposes. The former is for safety and the latter for comfort, to get the wind (and foreign objects) off my chest. I rode without a windshield for many years (always with a fullface helmet) and took enough rocks and grasshoppers in my man boobs at 75-80mph. My Windvest hardly turns my America into a Goldwing but it makes a big difference.
