Just for fun, yesterday, I decided to do some jetting adjustment (secondary), and decided to try the stock pipes out. (I bought the bike with D&D's already installed.) Well to my ear's surprise... I was like WTF!!!!. It sounded like an old stock Honda CB750 that was out of balance. All I could hear was the inner workings of the engine. It was like there was no exhaust at all! I'm so glad I already had an exhaust upgrade! I probably would have never bought it had I heard the way it sounds in it's natural state!

I rode mine for a (very) few miles with stock pipes, but I didn't hear a thing except the things moving around inside the engine.

I think my lawnmower made more Db than the stock silencers. I am tempted to retrieve them from the backshed & remove a couple baffles out of curiousity.

My lawnmower has a meaner rumble than that. I think my mother's singer sowing machine has more db.

I bought a tach for that reason. When in traffic at a stop I could not tell if my 03 America was even running. The second purchase was Septre exhaust, haven't needed to look at the tach since.

The America/Speedy with standard pipes has been likened to George Jetson's flying car more than once.

When I bought mine in Feb, it had stock exhaust. I rode it home (about 12 miles) and heard nothing but the workings of the engine. That was the first and last time I rode it with stock pipes.

That made me laugh. When I brought my bike home, my daughter said it sounded like the Jetson's car.
