Is it me or are some people just nuts when it comes to motorcycle prices. First of all there is nothing custom built about this bike.  Second of all, I understand it may be a pre-fire 2002 but how much is that really worth? Also, correct me if I'm wrong but I don't believe the Bonneville America had a true anniversary addition in 2002. I guess you could claim it was built in the anniversary year of 2002 which is pretty neat but that's as far as I would go with that claim.  Don't get me wrong I'd love to own 2002 but this guys "Buy it now" price is $7500. I wonder what his reserve price is, $7350!!  2002 America

He could have least washed it for asking that much! Never know, maybe he will get what he wants.

With only 1,025 miles covered in 7 years I don't wonder he's had to fit a new battery !!!
It's no 'anniversary model'...standard BA with some Triumph accessories and a couple of decals from what I can see. The lever tassels would put me off of bidding for it though !!!!

I thought the same thing. The bike is a mess and he could have at least shined it up a bit. Hey, there is a sucker born every minute and I think eventually the pre-fire 02's will be worth more to a collector but that's a ways away. Good luck to him.

So his 2002 motorsickle attracts a crowd wherever it is parked. Being as how he has 1025 miles on it, then the majority of those crowds must have been in his heated garage! Cinnamon girl carried me over to and from Eustis then Umatilla Florida in the rain yesterday. Would you believe that she has never been in the rain too? Jeez. I got a bridge I'll sell you for cheap. And no, my rain gear did not keep me dry. I am wearing my old boots due to the good ones being a bit wet.  Rode down that old oak lane: Rose Street. Should have snapped a picture but State Road 46 tends to get flooded real easy and I wanted to ride! Cool thing about yesterdays ride, of the six bikes there one of the PGR riders had an 08 Blue America! A nicer PGR event. We welcomed SSgt Crystal Joy Carrillo USAF who arrived home on leave from her second tour in Iraq. Rain indeed!

It's very rare. It's the ONLY year of the TRUE Bonneville America, before the name was shortened, lessening the value. <running and ducking> I didn't realize my '02 was also one of 50 to make it out before the fire. (Heh, the NERVE of this guy, on that and other things.)

I asked him this. 1 of 50 prefire 2002 huh? 100th anneversary edition also? Last I've checked they made a lot more than 50 between january and march 15th. It's not an anniversary edition either or it would say it on the side cover... hope you find a sucker.

Mine says 02/04, but my dealer said it was a pre fire 02 so I'll believe him.

The previous owner also told me that it's the only TBA blessed by the rakefellfromwall tribe. It had a scratch on the gas tank to prove it. I've got pictures $13000 firm.

Mine's a 2003, built in Dec 02. Does that count? I have the Bonneville America side cover so it must be! With 38,500 miles I'm not sure I'd take $7,500.00 for it. It's taken me this long to get it where I'm almost satisfied. I still need to get the progressive springs and shocks.
We all like to think of ourselves as rugged individualists. But when push comes to shove most of us are sheep who do what we are told. Worst of all, a lot of us become unpaid agents of whoever is controlling the agenda by enforcing the current dogma on the few rugged individualists who actually exist.

A: Your right I should have washed it first. However, it is done for now. The info I have came from Baxter Cycle in Marne Iowa, where I purchased the bike, this is the story I was told. Fuirthermore I have noticed that the ones that followed had the American Flag on both sides of the tank. Additionally there is some anniversary decal on the front fender. This is an extremly nice bike and whoever gets it will enjoy it. I am buying a condo and must reduce my fleet, as retirement approaches.Thank you for your inquiry.
