Specialty Spares recommends (if they are very settled in or you want to tone down a bit) adding a layer of 4-stroke baffle material around the original baffling.
I also wanted to tone mine down a bit and tried adding 4-stroke material. The original baffle material got messed up while removing the baffle so I ended up removing the old material and added new fiberglass baffle with the 4-stroke material around it. Big mistake. Now I've made it sound worse. Very harsh and raspy and louder. I'm thinking it's because all that material is packed in too tight, making the baffle unable to "breathe". Has anyone tried welding a washer at the end of the baffle? I'm thinking of trying this and wondering what size washer.
