I'm not surprised the different oils held up well in this test. But, the tester doesn't mention the effect on the clutch (and to a lesser extent, transmission) using oil not designed for use in that type of operating system. Will your clutch and/or tranny last as long? Only time will tell. Me, I'll pay a few bucks extra each year for motorcycle specific Mobil 1 oil from Autozone.
FWIW, when I first bought my bike a friend worked for Mobil 1 in Europe. She reported back that the Triumph Mobil 1 oil was no different than the other motorcycle Mobil 1 products, just custom branded. I did get some cool free things for participating in a consumer test for Mobil 1, but she since left the company and moved back to the states.
Has anyone here had their oil tested by Blackstone, etc? I can't say I've seen a bike oil report. I switched to Penzoil Platinum synthetic in my Altima, ran it to 10k and did an analysis. The results were great - they recommended 15k intervals.
