I guess I'll go against the grain here and say, get the clock.
In my opinion the tach position there is limiting. It just seems
to be a bad location down on the tank where you will have to crane
your neck to see it and while your looking down anyway you
might as well just run off the road. My speedo is on the tank and
I hate that positioning too.
My first bike, a Honda, had the good sense to put the speedo on the bars,
God knows what designers are thinking when they place your instruments
out of your field of view.
