I just ordered the front and rear lowering springs from Great Bsy for my BA. I am pretty sure I can install the rear short shocks (put em on and adjust chain), but I have not had the front tubes apart and do not know how to install the front lowering springs. Not sure if the kit comes with instructions, so if someone could just guide me through the R&R on the new front springs I would really appreciate it.If it's to much trouble I understand. No I do not have a service manual yet. Thanks for any help given gentlemen. Vegas

If you are just doing springs, all I did was jack the bike up, loosen the bars to get them out of the way, loosen the caps (carefull, it's spring loaded!), pull out the spring slowly to let the oil drip off, and put the new ones in. I used the stock spacers, didn't lower it, so you may need to adjust the oil level... I'm sure someone else will pipe up. But other than maybe swapping out the spacers, it's probably that simple.

Before you try to take the top caps off, be sure to loosen the top pinch bolt on the triple tree. This will make it easier to loosen the caps.

If you ordered the front lowering kit made by Progressive from Great Bay then you have to completely disassemble the fork legs. I cannot imagine doing this without the Service Manual. If for no other reason than the pictures of the internal parts.
If you just ordered springs then the procedure is as simple as removing the old/original and dropping in the new one.
