Ok this might be a dorky question...but did you guys name your bikes? If you did, what did you settle on? I originally named her Bonne-for obvious reasons. But now that she runs faster and louder, I think she needs a name change.

I don't really have a name for my Speedy but when I'm asked, the unofficial name is "SANDY". There is a story behind that but too long to share and not that big a deal really.

I have called my bike names on occasion. Nothing endearing, exactly. But when i figure out what's wrong, i take it all back. I still love my Trumpet!

I think it's endearing to name bikes-we spend so much time riding, cleaning, modding them, it almost seems fitting they would have a name. I agree that Pearl is a good looker Tom I also like: "I am waiting for her to tell me which she will when she's ready" by Lardie. Any other names out there?

I'm a Divinity school student and am trying to learn to read Biblical Greek, so my first bike was Agathos meaning good or useful, and my current bike is Hippos Purhros Apocalyptos which means the Red Horse of the Apocalypse. I call it Purhros meaning firey red for short.

I named mine "I don't believe this ******" when she stopped running one night at the recent Georgia Rally. I had left my cell phone in my riding pants at the motel and was traveling alone to get some "supplies" for the evening. Before breaking down I was carrying the "supplies" to load up for the trip back to the motel and realized I had left my saddlebags at the motel. I asked the clerk to hold them, the "supplies", until I returned and took off for the saddlebags. It was on that leg of my adventure that I named my bike.

People come to me to have their bikes named . I have a bowl of Peyote and mushroom soup and let it fly . I named mine "Lola" . Not THAT Lola , the one in the other song . "Whatever Lola wants , Lola gets" . She does .

"Nope", ya say Ian???!!! Now THAT'S kind of a strange name for almost ANYTHING...let alone a motorcycle!!!
Though I must say that with a name like that it might be kind of fun to work some kind of updated Abbott and Costello routine out of it, eh?! .....
Lou: "Does your motorcycle have a name?"
Bud: "Yep, Nope."
Lou: "Well, does it or NOT???"
Bud: "I said...Yep, Nope!!!"
Lou: "WHY DO I EVEN ASK THESE THINGS???!!!"

Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

I call one "the Speedmaster," and I call the other one "The Daytona." Not very original, is it... Actually, when the Daytona was yellow, my kids called it Bumblebee and that stuck. Now that it's silver, that just doesn't really fit. Will

This is a lot of fun seeing all the names. I'm noticing a music theme with a lot of bike names. Beatles, Pink Floyd, Ram Jam-or Sheryl Crow as it may have been...

In a curious turn of fate I named my America "Vera Lynn" the day I picked her up because she was an English lady with a set of pipes that generally improved moral... later I discovered that Moe already had the well know Vera Lynn, so after discussing it with Mrs. Moe, mine is "Vera Lynn II".
Wade was with me with I picked up my T100 and said she looked like a "Bernadette" (think the song by the 4 Tops) it suits her and it stuck.

Equating Sheryl Crow to music is worse than equating our beloved TBA's to a sporty. In my humble opinion of course.
Mine is a beaut and I call her Mrs. Robinson. Sly little seductress that she is with that bit of raciness. This was all decided one night after working her over in the garage and I may just have had a couple too many coupla' fingers of bourbon in the process. Sticks in my mind, don't really share that with anybody else. Kinda personal and all ya' know.
Ride On!
