Not enough power to make it one.
I have seen chains that have come undone on Gixxers and 'busas that have failed at a clip style link.
Rivet links do, however, have to be installed correctly to gain the strength advantage. A pair of hammers won't do. If you don't have the right tool, then you are better off with a clip.
