Holden first used the 307 Canadian V8 back in about 1968 or 9, then 327's and 350's. They also built Aussie 253 and 308 V8's. They have been using the gen3 350's and 454's in recent times in the Monaro's (GTO's for you guys)
I built up a 307 bored and stroked to 350 with stock heads and mild cam and 650 spreadbore Holley,and dropped it in my ski boat, Goes like the clappers and pulls away like nothing else. Will pull 3 skiers out of deep water with ease and no probs with 3 barefooters at 55mph either. And it is still going strong. Couldn't kill it with an axe.
