Have you tried adjusting at the clutch/trans end of the cable?

I only use the adjustment at the lever for temporary while I'm out riding, otherwise it's always at the bottom.

Be sure to tighten the lever end nut first.



I have, but I'm going to spend some time on it this weekend to get it right. I only spent a few minutes on it so far.
