Well Ian, from what you've told us about your past around here over the years, offhand I'd say that that old cop was probably NOT ONLY doing you and your friend a friendly favor by occupying your time in such a pleasant conversational manner, BUT was probably ALSO performing a very valuable public service to your whole community AS WELL!!!!
