That's probably the approach I'll take when the time comes. The stock filter has a pretty large surface area, so I don't see a problem as long as the bottom and snorks are out. Maybe I'm in the minority, but I like the look of the original faux filters.
youre not in the minority at all, how do you think all those freak kits got sold...haha
