OK..wheres the best place to get the K&N`s RC-2890 and RC-2900 at the BEST price in the UK?

Hey TrOjan
did you ever find best price in the UK for the K & N's
just angle grinded the mounting tab off the frame so there's no going back now.
Cheers
Chris

Chris, alas no, I gave up in the end.. I have since found these >> http://www.triumphtwinpower.com/dna-pod-filters---54mm.php which dont look bad, if you get them post back and let us all know what they perform like.

Just so your aware, the reason I went back to the airbox was I got caught in a bad rain storm out riding with my mates and the bike was spluttering like ****** as the water got sucked into the carbs!!

I am hoping to do a big bore kit over the winter and plan on jetting up the carbs again and use those filters but keep the airbox minus the top cover so the filters are inside the airbox to protect from rain.

Good Luck, TrOjAn

Ive gotten caught in the rain a few times with my pods and I only had sputtering in a really heavy downpour while moving slowly.

newspeedmaster.com sells a teflon slip on cover that works with the pods in rain situations, Ive never heard anything about how they work though. Living in the UK you guys definatelly gotta get something working right..haha

Don't you have little compartments stashed all over your bike? Some sort of tube, and a converted drill bit case? They don't take up much room.

I'm looking for somewhere to locate the breather filter and was wondering what the two bolts either side of the serial number stamping just behind the George Foreman Grill do. There the ones just in front of the filter in this pic.
Will the bottom fall out of my world if I take one out and fix a bracket to it and then replace.
I know it seems a daft question but will save me searching all over the place.
Cheers
Chris

I just used that small black bracket guard that fits under the sprocket cover. Bolted it in the upper portion and connected to that. You can sorta see it in this pic

If you do a bit of searching you'll find all kinds of different answers. I personally have never had a problem with a little rain here or there, but once got hit with a HUGE storm. I was riding in a foot of water in some spots and having some gurgling and bogging while coming to a stop. I just kept the rpm's high and kept it revving while at stop lights and she never stalled.

I have open pods with no graters, and a relocated battery with no side panels. Ive ridden for 2-3 years with the open battery and never had a problem electrically ever.

Coming over a Mt pass in CO....luckly I got to the top of the pass when it died (snow and rain)....I costed all the down...seemed like water in the coils (?)...took about 15 mins to dry out.

I have the Freak that keeps all the stock parts to make it look stock and I have never had an issue with rain of any kind. I have ridden in some very heavy rain for several hundred miles at a time.

I’ve been meaning to post these pics for a week or so. I picked up Tom's (Brokenfixed) battery relocation kit about 2 weeks ago. If you want to do this mod, but are like me and don’t have the technical knowhow (or the tools) to build your own mounting plate, this is definitely the way to go. Very fast turnaround, great price, great fit and finish and I love the end result. I had some questions along the way, and Tom got back to me quickly with answers and advice.

Anyways, here are a few pics of my bike after the relocation. I was toying with the idea of getting the whole box chromed, since I already had the chrome cover. But I needed a new set of tires for the truck much more than I needed chrome. I took my old battery box and cut off the mounting plate for the fuse box and ignition and mounted them to the stock location. Because of that, it’s not quite as minimalist as some of the installs I’ve seen, but I like it. I still need to mount the carb brace this week, but then its done (except for the re-jetting)

Hey Carl, that turned out really good with the ignition/fuse box added on the side. Looks like you gotta cut those side cover tabs off though..haha People get nervous on that one.
