My America is in for some routine service, so the evil geniuses at Manayunk Triumph gave me a Street Triple for the afternoon.

So light....so fast...so easy in the turns. And that sound. Anyway, bugging out of the office early this afternoon to play...

The Triple engines are nice. That's why I love my Tiger...and the smaller cousin, Daytona 675.

My take: it was fun. There is a certain amount of pride knowing that your astride one of the baddest bikes on the street and you can kick just about anyone's butt. It looks mean and feels cool to ride it and sounds great. Its fast and handles well.

AND...it really made me appreciate my America all that much more. I'm a cruiser guy. I don't need to race, don't need to prove anything, and just like to ride. The America is light years more comfortable and I feel safer on it. I can stow stuff in my saddlebags and on my luggage rack and feel secure knowing that my rain gear and extra layers of warm clothes are available just by pulling over and taking them out.

Since buying my America last year I've had second thoughts - should I have gotten a Street Triple or a Tiger instead? Now I know for sure I'm on the right bike for me.

you really need to know there is a big difference between the tiger & Street Triple ...the tiger is best all around bike I have rode...

and I got to say the tiger is much more comfortable riding then my America any day.............

as far as stowing stuff in my bags I love the bags on my tiger lots of room and all very easy to get at ....

now don't get me wrong I still have my America and love it.
but to compare it to the tiger... or the tiger to a Street Triple... I would take the tiger every time

Biker - you are right. I rode the Tiger at a demo day at Martin Motorsports last year and loved it. Great bike and if I ever have a second bike in my stable...that will be it. Just saying I love my America more as a result of riding the other bikes and appreciate it more. Like a comfy old pair of jeans...

There is an orange and black Tiger that was traded in (or bought at auction) at the local HD dealer. Nice, but way too tall for my liking. It's like climbing onto a mid 70's BMW.
