Hi guys I have a 06 tba with thunder bike pipes hole in the air box 130 mains thruxton needles ai removed and the internal filter, the floats were low i raised them just below the top of the bowls. The bike still sputters in top gear throttel wide open pulling hard past 85 mph and it will act like its lean or runing out of fuel. If drane fuel from the petcock it looks like a good stream fuel so is a pingel some thing i should look in to. thanks jim

It probably is lean. In my opinion, you should be running closer to a 150 main jet with that setup, at your altitude. The stock petcock will never be a limiting factor with a stock motor.

Internal filter? Do you mean the air filter? If so, Rob is correct. In fact, Dinqua's jetting calculator predicts the mains should be around 160.

I think almost everyone that has tried the 160 has found it too rich. I even had the 160s in mine with pods and gutted pipes and it was rich. I run a 155 now.

The Pingel is pretty and it doesn't bind up like the stock petcock, other than that it won't make a performance difference on our bikes. I have one, I like it, but only for the reasons listed.....

Check your bike's spec with the Jetting Calculator.
http://www.dinqua.com/Triumph/Executables/PatsJettingCalculator.exe
It looks like you need 131 mains at over 4000' elevation,
up to 133's at sea level.
Maybe that hidden fuel filter between the carbs?
The stock fuel tap flows plenty, but it can wear and
leak, and the Pingel is prettier.

I had the same problem as you arthur and I did install the pingle. I was able to alleviate the problem by replacing the fuel line with a braided style designed for automotive use. The fuel flow is much better and won't collapse.
