Glenn, I'm surprised the dealer didn't replace your stock cush drive with the Thunderbird one. This has been standard practice for years. My original one was replaced (Thunderbird) on warranty by my dealer at 8700 miles due to excessive play. I now have over 16000 on the bike with no noticeable play.
