I'd love to have a 500cc single. That'd be way cool.

That's how I fell in love with Triumphs. Back in the summer of 1971 a guy on a 500cc Trophy rode up by me an my buddy(we were about 18) I was on a Yamaha RD350 and he was on a Honda 305 Scrambler. We were sitting at a stop sign and he rumbles up with that classic Triumph exhaust note and preceded to take took off popping a small wheelie. We just sat there, looked at the bike taking off and then at each other with our mouths hanging open. I didn't know at the time but that little Yamaha could have kicked the Triumph's a**. But it was the classic British styling and rumble of the pre EPA exhaust that got to us. Like Lazy Rider said, It was way cool. Later that winter I traded my Yamaha for a 71 Blue and White, Triumph Trophy 650, and was hooked for life.
