As I read this I be thinkin' ,"Hmm, JB Weld? as preemptive meassure does make sense. And you can usually reuse the main gasket at least once if you are careful in disassembly and have a razor blade handy.
A word to the wise is not necessary. It is the stupid ones who need the advice.
