Hi all Has anybody tried to put HD brake and clutch controls on their America or SM? If so from what model should I look for? Thanks

You can use most any but all will mean wiring the switches up yourself. Frank just did a set on his. (they looked like Dyna controls but I could be wrong, don't know HD parts as well) Shoot him a PM I'm sure he will be more than happy to cop to the parts he used.

check out my post in the misc section. it can be done. i will say i did not do it myself as i did not have the time to do it. but it can be done and look very good. not sure what controls i used to be honest but i could get you the website i got them from if you really want them

I see your pics, great job. I've been looking through eBay and I see the "bore size" mentioned a lot. With the 2 front disc brakes, which bore size should I get. Also, I do really like the Harley switch gear but I'm happy sticking with what I have for now sans electrical work. Any guidance you could give would be greatly appreciated.

I can tell you if you are going to do it yourself that when I did the controls on my chopper it is a real PITA to solder the wires on those micro switches. I used the chrome square HD controls like you would find on a Shovel.

the controls i got came with all the wiring in the switches, also did not use solder. the guy used really small crimp connectors that he says he has had much better luck with on all the choppers he has built. i believe i used the 9/16 master cylinder which i think may be for duel discs but i have a 6 piston caliper and it works great.

I had just the opposite experience, when I used crimp connectors back in my early building days they eventually worked loose from vibration where the soldered connections didn't and I shrink tubed the soldered connections.

Yeah, I’m looking at a complete setup (Bars, and switchgear) on eBay now. Since the Harley signal switches are momentary, did you require a different relay type? What was needed to make that function properly?

nope no relay. only problem is they dont stay on so i have to hold the button. no biggie and i guess i wont forget to turn them off anymore
