Don't know if this helps but my corbin was a last ditch effort to let me ride comfortably (I had already done risers and footboards). It was expensive but part of my reasoning was that I knew I could re-sell the seat and backrest and probably recoup a sizable part of the investment.
That said, I like the foot forward position and you sound like you're not convinced. Surely your dealer would let you try a used standard bonnie for a day or so.
