For a first handgun, it is hard to go wrong with any of the better name revolvers. I like concealed, bobbed hammers with double action only for a carry gun. Then it is an easy move to the Glocks, I am a big fan, many flavors, sizes and powers availible, but, ugly and very recognizable... Simple, easy to use and no levers, decockers, etc. to confuse you. Point and squeeze.
