Thanks everyone for the great information. I've pretty much decided to drop the Sportster from my list. The Triumph demo days are the 24th & 25th locally, so hopefully I will get a chance to ride both the America and the Speedmaster. Even if I only ride one, I figure they are pretty much the same except for the options that have been mentioned on this thread.

The next step will be to see if I get a decent trade-in value on my Vstrom. I hope so, but I also realize that I might have to sell it first before buying.
