Actually, there was a bit of play before the throttle cables were engaged - not side to side. I readjusted the throttle cables. I thought I had no more room to adjust - but I went the other way and backed them up about an 1/8 of an inch. That did the trick.
I do have just a smidgeon of play side to side, but not enough to bother with.
