Nick how long is your warranty out?
Because this degradation has not only just happened!!! its obviously not a NEW problem as I have had three back wheels from Triumph.
I would certainly approach the dealer and a letter with some accompanying photos to the warranty dept. at Hinkley may produce a result.
Just as an aside have you had much other warranty problems if not then use this as part of the arguement i.e. been pleased with overall quality but this happens to be worst "JUST OUT OF WARRANTY"
Or if youve had many claims then use this to lever and add weight i.e. after everything else, this looks worse once its out of warranty!!!
Use the old trading standards quotes like "fit for purpose" Give it a go nothing to loose
