Hi there,

Just as an update update for you.

I've been running these pipes for a bit now and have been steadily messing with them to aim towards a 'legal' or 'legalish' sound.

So far no luck, I seem to be cooking the packing fairly effectively and getting a more muted rumble but not what i'd consider legal.

that being said at my muted rumble level it's quieter than a lot of the 'farting' cruisers (Harleys, Kwaks etc.). It's just possibly a bit louder than socially acceptable when you batter the throttle - plus whatever i've done to it now seems to have made first gear a little weak.

Rather than blocking off the end with stuff like i have been doing i think i'm going to try sticking two wider baffles - one further up the pipe than the other and playing around with it that way to give it a freer flow. The really good thing about these pipes (apart from the sound which is great) is that there seems to be a wide range of options to run through to customise the sound.

In short, no it's not at a 'legal' or 'legalish' level but it looks like with only a small amount of effort you can get it closer to sociable and with abit more effort i hope to get it spot on.

(some of you may be wondering why bother getting new pipes and then making them legal. For me the answer is simple and in two parts 1). I wanted a change in tone primarily and the option to play with volume rather than a marked increase in volume and 2. Having only passed my test recently if i get more than 6 points in 2 years i lose my licence and have to re-take my test - and i'm unlucky with police sometimes.)

In short, still more than happy with the pipes (though i've been running stock again while commuting). Once i sort the tone/anemic first gear i think they'll be 100% perfect.

Happy to answer any other questions as and when (and more than interested to hear other people's experiences)
