Any recommendations for aftermarket saddles? I find myself sitting on the back ridge of the stock saddle on my 04 TBA. It feels like if I could be sitting about 1" further back it would be more comfortable.

To do that youll need to go up, then back. Take a look at mine. Not teh best angle but a pretty good comparison of the changes made. The Black BA is mine with a reworked Speedmaster seat. The Black/Red BA is Karens with a stock Speedy seat. The work was done by Rich at Rich'sHe had to get me up, then back to get the pressure off my tailbone.

Thanks. Both bikes look great. 'Wish my wife would ride with me. Rich's might be a bit of a schlep for me though. I would prefer to not move up any, but if that's what it takes....

Youve only got an inch or so between your butt and padding. You dont have to go to Richs but itll give you an idea. Take the idea to a local guy and see what he can do. I didnt like the idea of going up and fought it. Rich finally had me try it and WOW....I went from 25 miles average before I needed to get off to 50 but with fatigue...no I can go to 100 with little issues and feel fine getting off the saddle.
I did ultimately get a set of spacers from Spacer Jim to get the bars up a tad.

Fair enough; makes sense. Thanks for the advice. I'll give it a try.

the need to sit furthur back is that because of long legs if so you could do as Wildmike did and move the control's forwardor if its to stretch your arms a little more why not shorter risers and a set of bars with less pull back,on my speedy i used 1" risers with a set of America bars works well for me Benny

Salesman, contact Spencer at: http://greatdaytoride.com/Home_Page.phpBesides improving the comfort of the seat, I believe he can mod yours regarding the tailbone issue. Quick turn around time and not a wallet buster. I haven't had mine done yet, but know 2 people who have. They say the change is fantastic. I sat on the one friend's BA, I could feel the difference just sitting on it. Jim F

Thanks Jim!
I had a number of emails back and forth with Spencer yesterday and, as a result, Fed Exp is carrying my seat to him at this moment. It sounds like he will be able to fix what is just about my only complaint about the BA. I thank you, and my aching butt thanks you, for the lead.

Be sure to take pics and let us know your thoughts about it when you get it back. His prices and turn time are awesome!

Will do. His website has a picture of a TBA. According to Spencer, a number of people who have had his modification done will brag to their friends about how they have an iron butt and can "ride all day" on the stock seat, because the seat retains it's stock look. I'll let you know. I sent it to him with a 2 day delivery and he says his turnaround is 24 to 36 hours! We'll see.
I was almost ready to pull the trigger on a Corbin, just hoping it would be better. If this works, it will be the bargain of the year.

Let's compare notes when they get back. I'm in the middle of repainting the rear fender and the chainguard as well as installing a Freak. Hopefully, I'll have it all done by the time my (your) seat is back.

I got my seat back today from Spencer. Amazing. One week from the day I sent it to him until the day I got it back! Unfortunately, the better half and I leave on vacation tomorrow so I won't get everything back together for a couple more weeks. I'll keep you posted.

OK, got my seat back today from Spencer. Took it out of the box and it looked just like the stock seat. Went out, popped it on and went for a ride. Upon first sitting on it, I didn't notice a huge difference, maybe a little spongier/bouncier than before. After about a half hour of riding, my butt felt the same as when I first got on. It's unbelieveable how comfy this seat is. I paid the extra 25 bucks for the supracor upgrade, and I'm glad I did. I could have ridden all day with this seat. This is possibly the best 75 bucks I've spent on my bike.

+1 Corbin seats will move you back and down since you sit IN them rather than on them. Downside is if you have short arms(I'm 5'9") I had to risers. But its worth it especially with the back rest.

Spencer did my seat too. I also did the upgrade, and you are right, what a difference. I had him take it down an inch so it looks better than before too. I'm very happy.
