Hello out there! I've been riding bikes since I was a kid, although I took a break for many years to spend time with some other interests (scuba diving, skydiving). I've been lusting after a Triumph since they came out with the new cruisers in '01(?). Well, Friday my dream came true and I brought home a bone stock '05 America in green and silver with 2500 miles. I put about 30 miles on it on Saturday (first nice day in who knows how long) and What a bike!! I figured that since I've been lurking here for years and I finally can join the brotherhood of owners I would post to say howdy! I've enjoyed this site for many years and I am looking forward to many more. My first upgrades will be the freak airbox removal, air injection removal, new pipes (not sure which yet), oil temp and pressure gauges, tailblazer and either HID or xenon headlamp upgrade. I hope to have this baby at least breathing better by the end of this week. So, I had some questions... what oil should I run and green and silver is the fastest, right? I'll try to post some pics if the sun ever comes out again Knoxville

Thanks, Chris! Yes, from TN about an hour from Deals Gap.
Pat, I've really enjoyed reading on your website - a wealth of good info there! Btw, here's to real beer! I tried my hand at brewing a couple of times - good results, but I need more practice...

Welcome Knoxville! I think I may have seen an ad for that bike. My wife and I have a date with the dragon this summer. Maybe we could meet up there. Oh yeah, run Wolfshead non-detergent straight 30w. Clay

Thanks, frijoli! You probably did - I was originally really wanting a speedmaster, but I couldn't pass this one up. Glad I didn't! I'ts barely run in.
I'm really looking forward to making the trip through the dragon again, early in the day, so I have time to stop for a burger in Tellico Plains before heading back up 411.

Ain't is a nice feeling to be here and own a Triumph! I just joined this site recently and I too recently picked up a TBA. Our stories are very similar in that I put aside bike riding for many years. When I was a kid I rode a 59 Triumph Trophy and got really interested in owning another Triumph when they started making them again. Well this year I picked up a 03 TBA with... and get this... 1200 miles. Like you I gotta make her breath better and give her a voice. BTW, I heard the red ones are the fastest.
Live to love, love to live.

Thanks for all the words of welcome!
eddieb - I jumped Mullin's plane at I think it was the roaming dz dublin boogie one year - that's one FAST jump ship! Seemed like 5 mins to altitude. I started jumping at skydive the farm and most recently was jumping at skydive smoky mountains from their c182 and c206 because of their being so close to home. I hadn't made any jumps though since last summer. Do you skydive?

You'll fit right in here smartazz. Yep, looks like we got another one! The competition is getting stiff around here. As to oil, I have always recommeded Crisco to all my Hardley buddies.

Haven't jumped since '96. While in the Harley shop one day, my wife made a deal. Sell the skydiving gear and she'll contribute that amount towards the Harley. Since I worked weekends, it was hard to reach the local DZ. Did you see Mullin's kid (Charlie) jump? I'm suprised that kid is still walking with his hook turn landings.
One memorable jump was from 15,600 ft. Talk about feeling funky in freefall.

Welcome to the site, and sorry, but black is the fastest, not to mention the best looking! Seems you have been misinformed. Also we're not allowed to talk about oil, politics, or religion. I think it's in the AUP.

I have been on many boards on many different topics, but this is definitely the warmest welcome. Thanks all - I look forward to getting to know everyone. eddieb - my wife is just the opposite - she'd rather me skydive than ride. She says she at least knows I'll be safer in the air with no nutcases around to hit me...she doesn't know the people I jump with though mikemm03 - sounds like a plan - sorry I didn't know about the swap meet, plus the weather is not so nice. I'll catch up with you when it warms back up a bit. Once again, thanks for the welcome. Crisco...heheh

Glad to have you here, Knoxville. Green's a sweet color. ... I've never jumped but would like to. Just talked my wife into the bike, though, with the argument that a mid-life crisis is a terrible thing to waste. Don't think I'll have much luck with that argument a second time. Hey, enjoy that ride.
