Some people might not like the looks of the new Thunderbird, but the one I sat on was very comfortable (more so than my America when it was stock). Having a shorter wheel base means the Thunderbird will handle better, plus the extra power will make running the mountain roads more fun.
I love my America, but my Tiger with its much shorter wheel base, higher center of gravity, and much higher power/torque will run circles around my America. Plus I hate to admit it, but the Tiger is the most comfortable bike I have ever ridden in my life. You don't sit on a Tiger you become part of it.
With all that said, most people hate the look of the Tiger. So don't judge the Thunderbird to hard until you ride it.
