Brent's NGK wires are very good and he has the Premium wires with Stainless Bremi caps which are very cool. Reasonable compared to factory. Making your own is ok but finding the right coil ends can be a PITA. Then you need the bulk wire, NGK caps, coil boots and crimp tool. The 7mm vs. 8mm isn't much of a factor. It's the thickness of the insulation. It has nothing to do with the spark.
