paper route.
worked for a liquor store when I was 15...for a week.
clerk to manager for Sav-On drugs from about ages 16 to 22.
alarm installer for car dealers when I was 23.
short stint in construction and for Sams club at about 23/24.
for teh last 14 years I have worked for a littel company called Best Buy. I started as a car audio tech (4 years) and am now what called an RFT (Retail Functinality Trainer). There are only 44 of us but when I started there were less than 20.
The title means little...the job is extensive. Here are some of the things I do:
Overall electronic display functinoality support for 15 (used to be 35) stores. This means I know how it works and I help retail make it work.
I order all repair parts and manage the return process for said parts for all stores.
I am a trainer on many levels....I have trained adn promoted five people in four years. I teach technical knowledge anywhere from a one on one basis to a class room style. I teach the technology that drives our business...audio, video, digital imaging, etc...
I am responsible for the support of new store openings and the teams that open those stores as well as the teams that do all of our special projects.
I am responsible for the upkeep of all store video systems both internal and external.
I am overall the go to guy when no one else has the answer no matter what the need is.

You could say I have one of those jobs that no one trains for but everyone wants.
I racked up 280,000 miles on my truck in 8 years...I earned 240,000 Alaska miles my first two years and only spent 6 weeks in my apartment the first year. Things have mellowed out since then but I tell you...I love my job!
