Mostly we make super-high precision bearings out of exotic alloys for everything from satellites to the new wind turbine gear boxes, but we also dabble in some motorsports and other stuff (if you've got a turbo with ball bearings instead of journal bearings, it might be one of ours) But, I've seen this poster around our offices from 2003, when we were advertising the heck out of bearings for motorsports (ABEC7 Ball Bearings for the wheels and gearboxes, which are about as close to frictionless as you're going to get!) which is why CAT and other engine builders are going to them courtesy of my production line). Well, my boss had a couple old motorcycle racing mags laying around under other important "paperwork" and so let me have a copy which had this cool advert on the back...

Very cool. Nothing like a little truth in advertising.

I used to sell Barden bearings. Best aircraft bearing out there!

That poster is from 2003? I hope they don't use that advertising company anymore? They couldn't even spell "highspeed" right!

I have to look and see if we actually still make those. I didn't have much luck finding "Hyspeed" bearings when I did a Google search, but I'll ask my boss. He's been there forever and a day and can whip out bearing nomenclature like he sleeps with it in his pillowcase! BUT, they WILL be expensive, that I can tell you. Some of the bearings we make cost as much as $40,000 EACH, because of the difficulty of making them (to the tolerances we hold ourselves to) and the material, and because making 1000 of anything is considered HIGH volume.(it doesn't help that we're located in one of the most expensive manufacturing locations in the country either!!) I did see an old price list for a Buell, and a set of bearings for a Buell gearbox was about $600, and that was from 2002!
