The area I work in has some horrible roads to try and negotiate an ambulance through. It's made worse by people who just park so inconsiderately.

What's worse is when you are on a call are drivers who give us grief because we end up blocking the road because we can't park anywhere else.

We had one woman fling open the back door of the vehicle and start giving us hassle because she couldn't get into the school entrance to pick her kid up.

Well we couldn't get into the school entrance either but we had a kid on the back who we were treating after falling off a climbing frame.

It was quite ironic though that after a tirade of abuse she saw the kids arm and went white and looked a bit queasy.

Faith in humananity was somewhat restored afte hearing the amount of abuse she was getting off some of the other mothers as we pulled away.

It just seems at times as though the motor vehicle has turned us into awful people.

Before the war on terror, if I saw an unattended package I used to think "I'll be having that!"
