Me either, but here's my guess. Assuming the chrome on our bikes is laid using a triple chrome plating process (copper, nickel, chromium), you won't get magnetic attaction unless the base metal being plated is steel. I think most of the BA chromed items use aluminum as the base metal, hence they won't pass the magnet test.
