I can only afford one at the moment. I want to be able
to move my feet around a little. The dresser bar w/pegs
looks like it might help but together that cost more than the floor boards. The floorboards looks like I could move my feet around more. So anybody have experience with both that could express their views or preferences to help me see the variables through your eyes and feet. thanks all for the light bar help that went real well. thanks in advance.

I'd go with the boards-- you can get bars for $30 to $50 in a catalog---made my ride so much more comfy--but I'm an old fart

Tough call. Depends on your dimensions.
I'm 6'0 - mostly legs and I have the footboards (love 'em) and the engine guard bars. I thought of buying pegs for the bars but when I simulated the position it felt like prepping for a colonoscopy... not my idea of riding comfort.

I had the boards for a couple days but gave them to Karen. They kept my feet to flat.
I like the bars with pegs better.

I cant find a recent picture so Ill post one later...

OK...found em. There are two sets of pics I have.
The first was with Kury pegs on teh Triumph dresser bars. I did not like this set up. The pegs were way too high... made me feel like I was on a Gyno table...or what I imagine it like:
Kury Pegs

I switched to the Triumph pegs but mounted them lower. This set up allows me to stretch out rather than stretch up.

my my two sweet bikes. Thanks for the pics Z. I see what you mean about the triumph pegs. I should get both boards and pegs, but It looks like the pegs are what I'm after, because I think it's my knees I need to flex. They get locked up if I leave em in one position to long. thanks all.

ok, i got the dresser bar and pegs. installed them, took longer than I thought. went for three hour ride one way today, good chance to check them out. What I notice is that the dresser bars don't stick out as far as the ones on other bikes. that limits the width that the pegs can "get out there". Because of that I felt they had to be position ed higher to get past the shifter and brake controls, because again the bars aren't that wide to mount the pegs lower and not interfere with the other controls. I got the stock triumph dresser bars and pegs/mountings. so why do I feel like others have expressed i'm on a gyno tabele? aaarrggg. I'm afraid to mount the pegs lower and get in the way of the shifter/brake controls. Any ideas appreciated. I'm not that pleased with the cost/benefit. frick!!!!

I looked at z's pics again. He' got them way down low towards the low end of the bar turn. and it from the pick it seems lower than the shifter by a good margin. I'll study this some more. thanks all.

z it looks like I've got the same pegs but your mounting hardware come down and out. the trimph part just mounts to the bar and them the peg to that. i got the madss stuff that referenced parts related to each other. how come your mounting parts to the bar go down and out?

The floor boards changed my life. I can stayy in the saddle much longer now. I got the Triumphs but there might be some brands that are more flexible.

In passing:I upgrade to a Corbin saddle which is good but sits lower and further away from the bars so I had to by bar extenders. Now my arms fit, but with the Triumph boards, my kees are alightly higher and after a few hundred miles get stiff. As my Gold Wing friend says :If you just spend enough money, you'll have a real motorcycle."

Try the Kuryakyn Off- Set Mounts. Gives you a lot of placement options. I had the same problems as you till I installed these mounts. PM me if you have specific questions.

The problem with this is that if you want Kury you need to get ALL kury. The Triumph parts look similar however they are not. Kury uses those funny little pins now and the Triumph stuff uses splines.
Now when I hit this little snag I scrapped it all, returned all my Kury stuff and ordered all Triumph so I didnt spend too much time looking into it.
