Got my bike out 2 weeks ago and stalls every so often. It starts right away and then runs fine. Motors warm, lots of gas, not a tank venting problem. Stalled when i was riding.

Only thing different is fuel stabilizer from when i put it away last November.

Will I have to kick the harley and the dog out of the back of the pickup?

Mine's doing exactly the same thing. Likely culprits are a faulty pulse generator, a faulty throttle position sensor, or (most likely and most expensive) a faulty ignitor.

I've not fixed mine yet coz finances are lousy right now (yay for the global financial crisis eh?) Let us all know how you get on.

Are your bikes injected or carbed?
I have had that happen a couple of times when stopping reasonably quickly for traffic lights on my 08!
Told the dealer at the first service and they said it was probably running lean. They reckoned they balanced the carbs (!) but it has done it since.

Mine did that today too. Running along at speed just fine then dead (like hitting the kill switch). Hit the ignition button she fires right back up and keeps on going. It did this once before and it was a bad coil (which the dealer replaced under warranty). Looks like he may get to warranty another one.

it couldn't hurt to check the hidden fuel filter

That is on the list of things to check. I'm also leaning towards making them replace everything that has to do with making a spark! This is ridiculous...

Update:
Took it to the dealers last week and it was a loose battery connection. Runs fine now. Glad I didnt burn out my voltage regulator or worse.

I'm glad you got your problem fixed! I'm still trying to get mine figured out.
