Hello all.
Ok, so I’ve read all I can on removing the baffles from my ’07 America, which I will tackle in the next month, but I still have questions.
First, I’m not looking for an increase in performance; I am looking to ride something louder than a sewing machine.
Background, I had carb problems on my first bike, a Honda Shadow, and spent more time tinkering with the carbs than I did riding it. I do not want to get into this scenario again. I like the Ronco method: “Set it and forget it!â€
I’ve also read a lot of posts concerning issues riders have had with adjusting the pilots correctly to deliver smooth power over the RPM range. So, I guess I have two questions: 1) If I remove the baffles 1,2 or 1, 2 and 3, does it require rejetting, air box modifications, Etc.
2) If it does require rejetting what jets at what setting works well with baffleless stock pipes.
As I said, I’m not looking to improve performance, just make the bike a little louder. Any information you have would be greatly appreciated!

I don't know about anyone else, but I removed the last baffle (the one without removing the pipes from the bike) and I haven't re-jetted, tuned or anything. My bike has no problems and runs well enough for me!

06 America - missing, presumed in bits. With it's TBS wheel...

One baffle you probably don't need to do much if anything. Remove them all and you need to rejet. You have to give more info to get the right answers. How many baffles, did you leave the cat. in , altitude, air box mods, and any other changes. Even then the best person to determine what jets you need is you or a local guy that knows how to jet a bike since every location is going to be a little different than the next. We could get you in the ball park though.

Why don't you leave that fine running machine stock and get an Ipod with loud engine noises on it? You could pretend the Ipod is your bike making loud noises.
2008 BA, Ageon Blue, roadster shield, light bar. tach, big bags, square engine guard, short sissy with rack. All Triumph parts. No mods.
