While reinstalling battery, (without glasses on) I reversed polarity for a brief second. Now no headlamp when ign on and no starter juice, What did I do?

Would reversing polarity blow fuses? I would think that a diode would let loose 1st as its basically a dead short. I guess it depends on what the components are rated for.

check your fuses
Wut Yota sed... May not be the problem - BUT THAT'S WHERE TO START. It's cheap, it's easy, AND VERY EASILY THE SOURCE of your problem. There is some kind of interlock with the fuse circuitry that disables the starter if the headlight is disfunctional. I approached a similar problem with panic and ignorance and spent a week when all I needed to do is pop in a fuse. And also from experience - DON'T just look at the fuses - USE A TESTER. The little bastions will fool you.

Not saying its not a fuse, but the diodes are tied in with the ignition control and the headlight. Fuses def easiest thing to check 1st.

Yeah, I agree with DuckOner. One thing though, what's a diode? To be honest, I don't know what a diode is and where they are to change one.

A diode only allows current to pass in one direction: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diode

Oh yeah, Make sure you didn't hit the kill switch by mistake. I've done it, and so have others.

Thanks all. It was a 30A fuse. Good design.
